The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to NATO structures, policies and operations, as well as, an overview of the current issues facing the Alliance. The course is primarily designed for regular and reserve officers and civilian officials from NATO and Partner Countries who are assuming national or international responsibilities in the security field.

Students who complete this basic course will acquire the level of knowledge and understanding necessary to enable them to benefit more fully from the advanced NATO courses offered by the NATO Defense College.

The aim of this course is to ensure the target audience is aware of corruption risks and their impact on mission success and to raise awareness of corruption and promote BI concepts and tools in order to enhance professionalism and effectiveness across the NATO Structures and relevant national ones

  • Be aware of the importance of addressing this topic in all NATO plans and operations
  • Be aware of the importance of addressing BI elements in all phases of planning and implementation

FA professional development will occur through four or more events per year, with the most substantial being the end of summer preparation event during Dean’s Week before commencing the autumn Senior Course/NRCC.

This module include preparation phase involving preliminary readings, surveys, or online courses.
